Network, Printing, Scanning

Network

  • LAN is available in the labs. Find a cable and connect your computer to the nearest switch. If you attach other networking equipment, e.g. switches, routers, etc. inform Sergio Davies.
  • WLAN is available in all the rooms: SSID: neuromorphs, WPA encryption

Scratch file server

We have a local samba share to store big files and share them among participants.

  • Everybody wifi LAN or WIFI access can read, change, delete everything!

To get access in Linux enter  smb://10.128.0.1/scratch/ in your file browser (e.g. konqueror, dolphin).

In Ubuntu open the file browser, in menu select File -> Connect to Server... and enter:

  • Server: 10.128.0.1
  • Share: scratch

In Windows you can make the share available like this:

  • open the start menu
  • in the text field enter cmd and press enter to start a shell
  • enter this command: net use s: \\10.128.0.1\scratch "" /u:""
  • now the share is available as drive letter s:

Printer

  • the printer is attached to the network and reachable via LAN and WLAN:
    • Model: Oki B410
    • The printer IP is: 10.128.0.16
    • Port: 9100 (HP Jet-Direct)
